Custom Software Solutions
Software built around your actual workflow, not the other way around — with source-code ownership on handover.
What it combines
Services in this solution
3 service categories, scoped and delivered as one engagement.
-
IT Consultancy
Independent assessments and strategy — network design, cybersecurity posture, cloud and procurement.
-
Software Development
Custom software, web and mobile applications and system integrations built around how you actually work.
-
ERP Solutions
ERP consulting, implementation and support — from first fit assessment to system upgrades.
An off-the-shelf tool works until your process no longer fits inside it. Custom software solutions exist for that point — but the decision to go custom carries real weight, and getting it wrong (skipping data migration planning, assuming connectivity that isn’t there, losing access to your own source code) costs more than the build itself.
The questions worth answering before you commit
Build versus buy: is there a product that already fits, and would customising it cost less than building? Data migration: what condition is your existing data actually in — clean spreadsheets, or years of inconsistent entries that need auditing first? Connectivity: does the system need to work through outages or in low-connectivity areas, which changes the architecture from day one? Payment integration: if mobile money or another local payment rail is involved, what does that provider’s API actually support, and what approval process applies? Hosting: local infrastructure or cloud, weighed against your connectivity and data-control preferences? Handover: do you own the source code, and is the system documented well enough that another developer could take over if needed?
What this solution combines
Primarily software development — custom builds, web and mobile applications, integrations and ongoing maintenance — with ERP solutions where the requirement turns out to be closer to a business-management system than a bespoke build, and independent IT consultancy for organisations wanting a build-versus-buy assessment before committing to either path.
Who this fits
Organisations whose process has outgrown spreadsheets or a heavily customised off-the-shelf tool, businesses needing mobile money or local-payment integration a generic platform doesn’t support, and anyone who has been burned before by a developer relationship that ended with no access to their own system’s source code.

Frequently asked questions
How is a 'solution' page different from the Software Development service page?
The service page lists what we build (web apps, mobile apps, integrations, and so on). This page is about the decision to go custom in the first place — when it's the right call, and the specific questions (data, connectivity, hosting, handover) that determine whether a custom build succeeds.
What's the single biggest reason custom software projects fail?
Unclear or unstable requirements — building against a process nobody has actually mapped out yet. We spend real time on the assessment stage specifically to avoid this, even when a client wants to move straight to building.
Can you take over a custom system another developer built?
Yes, provided we can get access to the source code and enough documentation (or time to reverse-engineer it) to understand what's there. This is a common request from organisations whose original developer is no longer reachable — and part of why we insist on client-owned source code for anything we build.
Do you build for offline-first use in areas with unreliable connectivity?
Yes, when it's specified as a requirement from the start — offline-first architecture (local storage with sync-on-connect) is a design decision made early, not something retrofitted onto a system built assuming constant connectivity.
